Product Overview

Cisco Meraki MS250-24P-HW is a new next-generation cloud-managed access switch that aims to provide enterprise-level performance at a lower level of management complexity. It has 24 Gigafix Ethernet ports, all with PoE+, and four uplink 10-Gigafix SFP+ ports, but they can be increased with the expansion of the network.

The MS250-24P has a high-speed connection, 370W PoE, which provides a cost-effective option and is the most appropriate to power access points, IP cameras, and VoIP phones. It is designed to support mid-sized businesses, branch offices, and campus installations. This change will be an ideal solution because of the stackable architecture and the possibility to control the cloud via a Meraki Dashboard, which will enable a company to embrace a centralized control strategy and network of the future.

Key Features and Benefits

Cloud Management simplified.

Deploy, support, and test your entire switching environment directly from the Meraki Dashboard, no on-premises controllers required.

Power Where You Need It

Power gadgets such as wireless APs, cameras, and phones that do not include external power injectors require PoE budget and PoE++ + on all access ports and have a 370 W PoE budget.

High-Speed Uplinks

The 10-Gigabit SFP+ uplink can have four interfaces to provide high-speed and resilient connections to aggregation or core switches to remove bottlenecks.

Enterprise-Grade Stacking

Physically stack up to 8 switches with 80 Gbps stack bandwidth, or stack up to 8 switches and manage them as a single virtual switch with a single policy and simplified management.

Non-Blocking Performance

The switching fabric of 128 Gbps will be used to ensure that the throughput is uniform even when the network is experiencing peak throughput.

Advanced Troubleshooting software.

The built-in long-range, packet sniffers, and cable diagnostics services decrease downtime and simplify the support.

The MS250-24P-HW provides performance, ease, and scalability. Its 24 Gigabit ports all support Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+), which enables it to directly supply power to devices such as access points, IP cameras, and VoIP phones without the need for additional cabling. The switch will have a cumulative PoE capacity of 370 W, which is also enough to support some of the high-demand devices simultaneously.

The four 10G SFP+ uplink ports will support high-speed backbone connectivity that will reduce network congestion and allow a smooth flow of communication between the access and core layers. In applications where greater resiliency is required, the MS250 can be stacked physically to form a single system with a stack bandwidth of 80 Gbps, accommodating up to 8 units.

The Meraki Dashboard is a cloud-based Cisco tool that allows for the management of the entire network. This allows the IT administrators to configure, monitor, and troubleshoot networks at any location. The capabilities that are included encompass remote packet capture tools, cable testing, and comprehensive reporting, which enhance visibility and quick problem-solving.
