FortiGate FG-40F is a small next-generation firewall (NGFW) which is meant to serve small businesses, branch offices and distributed enterprise locations which demand powerful security in a space-saving form factor. FortiOS powers the FG-40F and has a purpose-built Security Processing Unit (SPU), making it a single appliance with a combination of performance-based firewalling, embedded threat protection, and secure SD-WAN. The FortiGate FG-40F makes the best of the enterprise-level security available to small locations and branch offices. It has done it through the integration of firewalling, intrusion prevention, application control, web filtering, and anti-malware in one small-sized appliance that does not require several standalone appliances.
The FG-40F supports rigorous network traffic with a firewall throughput of up to 5 Gbps and supports the 4.4 Gbps IPsec VPN performance of establishing a fast site-to-site encrypted connection. The online organisations utilising encrypted traffic may utilise its feature of ensuring the inspection of the traffic through the use of over 300 Mbps, which is possible without any loss in visibility.
The FG-40F can run quietly with a fanless design and draws very little power, and can fit easily into the narrowest of work areas. There are five integrated Gigabit Ethernet ports, which make it easier to incorporate the network, and it can be extended to Fortinet switches and access points using FortiLink.
Combined with FortiGuard Security Services, the FG-40F is constantly updated with the latest threat data to promote active protection against the development of malware, ransomware, and sophisticated attacks.
