The OmniConverter G/M is a versatile, compact, managed Gigabit Ethernet fiber edge switch designed for extending network distances and providing robust connectivity. This specific model features one Gigabit multimode fiber port (SC connector, 550m reach) and four 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 copper ports. It operates as a Layer 2 Ethernet switch, forwarding frames based on MAC addresses. The G/M offers advanced features such as Directed Switch mode for efficient multicast traffic management, and models with dual fiber ports support redundant uplinks for high availability with sub-50ms restoration and Daisy-Chaining capabilities. Dual Device mode allows for operation as two independent switches. Configuration and management are flexible, accessible via DIP-switches, or through Web, Telnet, SSH, and Serial Console interfaces (supporting both in-band and out-of-band management). The G/M integrates with Omnitron's NetOutlook SNMP software for comprehensive monitoring and alarming. It can be wall or DIN-rail mounted and is powered by a US AC to DC adapter.
