The OmniConverter G/M is a versatile, compact, and managed Gigabit Ethernet fiber edge switch designed to extend network distances using fiber optic cabling. It functions as a standard Layer 2 Ethernet switch, forwarding frames based on MAC addresses. This model features a single Gigabit fiber port with an SC connector, supporting single-mode fiber for distances up to 12 kilometers. It is equipped with four 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 copper ports, enabling seamless integration of copper-based devices into a fiber network. The G/M is powered by a US AC input (100-240VAC) via an included adapter. It offers advanced management capabilities through Web, Telnet, SSH, and Serial Console interfaces for both in-band and out-of-band access, as well as SNMP support for real-time monitoring and alarming via Omnitron's NetOutlook software. For enhanced multicast traffic handling, it supports Directed Switch mode, ensuring efficient delivery of video streams by isolating traffic to designated fiber ports. The compact design allows for flexible deployment options including wall mounting or DIN-rail mounting with an optional clip.
