The OmniConverter G/M is a versatile and compact managed Gigabit Ethernet fiber edge switch designed for extending network reach and enhancing connectivity. This model features eight 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45 copper ports and a Gigabit fiber uplink port with an ST connector, supporting single-mode fiber for distances up to 12km. It operates as a Layer 2 managed switch, intelligently forwarding frames based on MAC addresses. Advanced features include Directed Switch mode for efficient multicast traffic management (ideal for video distribution), and support for redundant fiber uplinks and Dual Device mode on models with two fiber ports for critical applications and network segmentation. Configuration is flexible, accessible via DIP-switches or comprehensive management interfaces including Web, Telnet, SSH, and Serial Console, supporting both in-band and out-of-band management. Omnitron's NetOutlook SNMP software provides real-time monitoring and alarm reporting. The unit is powered by a US AC adapter and offers multiple mounting options, including wall and DIN-rail.
