The OmniConverter G/Sx is a compact, unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet fiber edge switch designed for extending network distances using fiber optic cabling. It offers flexible connectivity with one or two Gigabit fiber ports and four or eight 10/100/1000 RJ-45 copper ports. This Layer 2 switch forwards frames based on MAC addresses and includes advanced features like Directed Switch mode for efficient multicast traffic management. Models with dual fiber ports provide redundant uplinks for high availability with sub-50ms restoration, can be used for daisy-chaining, or operate as two independent switches in Dual Device mode. Configuration is simplified via accessible DIP-switches with clear labeling. The G/Sx is available with various fixed fiber connectors (ST, SC, LC) or SFP transceiver receptacles, supporting multimode or single-mode fiber with distances up to 140 km. SFP models offer compatibility with a wide range of distances and CWDM wavelengths. Its compact design allows for wall or DIN-rail mounting, and it supports DC power input or external AC adapters.
