This switch intelligently forwards Ethernet frames based on MAC addresses and supports advanced features like Directed Switch mode to optimize multicast traffic flow, particularly for video streams. Models with dual fiber ports offer enhanced reliability through redundant uplinks with sub-50ms restoration capabilities and flexible deployment options including daisy-chaining or operating as two independent switches (Dual Device mode). Configuration is simplified via accessible DIP-switches with clear labeling. The G/Sx supports a variety of fiber optic connector types (ST, SC, LC) and SFP transceiver receptacles, accommodating multimode or single-mode fiber across a wide range of distances (up to 140 km), including CWDM wavelengths for SFP models. Its compact design allows for flexible mounting on walls or DIN-rails, and it can be powered via DC input or external AC adapters.
