VM55B-U is designed to be used in video walls in which the continuity of the visuals and reliability are of primary concern. Its ultra-narrow bezel construction (joined to form an approximation of 3.5 mm) enables one to tile many displays with little visual intrusion, creating a unified, immersive visual platform.
The IPS panel guarantees wide viewing angles to provide the same color and contrast to the viewers located on the side or overhead. The display has a brightness of 500 nits with a non-glare finish, hence it can be read under bright ambient light environments, like in a public area. The haze system is useful to minimize the reflection that is necessary in video walls that have been mounted behind the glass or display windows.
Connectivity provides real video wall configurations: DisplayPort loop-out to chain video walls, accepts numerous types of inputs and control options (RS-232C, RJ45, IR), which can be centrally controlled. The display is operational 24 hours a day to provide day and night signage.
Power consumption is high (165 W average, 220 W peak), and power and cooling must be considered during installation. The display itself measures approximately 19.4 kg, and its size and thinness of 73 mm should allow it to be mounted without clutter. The VESA 600x400 is handy for easing wall-mounting.
